Hill Top Bike Park Coaching

Want to improve your jumping, pumping and bike control in a purpose-built bike park environment? Hill Top Bike Park is ideal for riders who want to build confidence progressively across a range of table top jumps and features.

Our public Hill Top coaching sessions focus on the foundations that make jumping smoother, safer and more controlled, while helping you understand exactly what the bike should be doing beneath you.

Why Hill Top?

Hill Top Bike Park has been built with progression in mind, making it a great location for learning and refining jump technique.

Rather than simply sending riders towards bigger features, we work through the foundations first, then build things up gradually so you understand the movement and feel more confident as you progress.

Purpose-built progression

A range of table top jumps and features means we can build skills gradually rather than forcing progression too quickly.

Jump with more control

Learn to create lift through technique and timing rather than relying on speed or simply pulling on the bars.

Improve your pumping

Learn how to generate speed and flow through terrain by using your body and bike together more effectively.

Build confidence

Progress at a pace that makes sense for you, with clear coaching and individual feedback throughout the session.

What will we work on?

Body Position

A strong starting position helps you stay balanced, mobile and connected to the bike.

  • Stable riding position
  • Weight through the feet
  • Free movement around the bike
  • Staying centred and balanced

Pump Technique

Learn how to use the terrain to create speed and improve flow without relying on pedalling.

  • Loading and unloading the bike
  • Timing your movement
  • Using rollers effectively
  • Generating speed through terrain

Dynamic Movement

Good jumping requires movement rather than stiffness. We help you understand how and when to move on the bike.

  • Bike and body separation
  • Weighting and unweighting
  • Range of movement
  • Staying relaxed through features

Jumping

We break jump technique down so you understand the take-off, the flight and the landing rather than simply hoping for the best.

  • Approach position
  • Loading the bike
  • Timing the take-off
  • Following the shape of the jump
  • Landing position

What to expect on the day

Bike check

Before we start riding, we will have a quick look over your bike and help with any obvious setup issues that could affect your confidence or control.

Tyre pressure, suspension and cockpit setup can all make a noticeable difference when jumping and pumping.

Get your bike dialled before your course

A balanced bike is much easier to ride confidently through jumps, rollers and compressions.

Our SkillsLoop Bike Setup Tool gives you personalised starting points for tyre pressure, suspension, rebound, cockpit setup, brake lever position and more.

Get your bike closer before your coaching session so you can spend more time working on your technique.

Foundations first

We start with body position and movement before progressing onto jumping.

Getting these foundations right makes everything else easier and helps remove many of the common problems riders experience on take-off.

Pumping and movement

We use rollers and suitable features to help you understand compression, extension and timing before applying the same principles to jumps.

Jump progression

Once the foundations are working well, we move onto table top jumps appropriate to the group and your individual ability.

Progression is based on technique and confidence, not pressure to ride the biggest feature.
