Private Ebike Course

Private eBike MTB Coaching

Modern eMTBs are hugely capable, but getting the most from one takes more than simply turning the assistance up.

Our Private eBike Course is designed to help you use the extra weight, power and grip of an eBike to your advantage, while improving your core riding technique at the same time.

Whether you want to jump and drop with more confidence or improve your cornering and technical climbing, the session is built around your riding and your goals.

Make the eBike work for you

An eBike can help you ride further, climb more and access more terrain, but the additional weight and motor assistance can also expose weaknesses in technique.

Good body position, movement, braking and power management become even more important when the bike is heavier and delivering extra torque.

Use the extra grip

Learn how to stay balanced and make better use of the traction an eBike can generate.

Manage the weight

Understand how to move a heavier bike underneath you instead of letting it dictate your position.

Control the power

Learn how gear choice, cadence and assistance level affect traction and control on technical climbs.

Ride with confidence

Build stronger technique so the bike feels predictable on climbs, corners, jumps and drops.

Choose your course focus

Option 1: Jumps & Drops

Ideal if you want to improve how you move the extra weight of the bike and become more confident when the wheels leave the ground.

  • Bike and body check
  • Core skill recap
  • Pumping
  • Bunny hop foundations
  • Jump technique
  • Drop technique
  • Landing control

Option 2: Cornering & Technical Climbing

Designed around two areas where eBikes can be incredibly capable when the rider understands how to use the bike properly.

  • Body position
  • Bike and body separation
  • Flat corner technique
  • Berms
  • Technical climbing
  • Gear selection
  • Power-mode selection

We start with the foundations

Before working on jumps, drops, corners or technical climbs, we check the fundamentals.

Core skills are still core skills, whether the bike has a motor or not.

Body Position

A stable first position gives you room to move and helps manage the additional mass of an eBike.

  • Weight through the feet
  • Relaxed arms
  • Strong range of movement
  • Staying centred
  • Keeping the bike mobile underneath you

Bike & Body Separation

A heavier bike makes good separation even more important.

  • Moving the bike underneath you
  • Creating lean without collapsing your body position
  • Staying balanced through changing terrain
  • Managing grip

Option 1: Jumps & Drops

The additional weight of an eBike does not mean you cannot jump it.

It does mean that timing, movement and technique become even more important.

Bunny Hop Foundations

We use bunny hop movements to develop bike control and help you understand how to move the front and rear of the bike independently.

  • Front wheel lift
  • Rear wheel unweighting
  • Timing
  • Dynamic movement

Jumping

We break the jump into clear stages so you understand how to create lift rather than relying on speed.

  • Approach position
  • Loading the bike
  • Take-off timing
  • Following the take-off
  • Flight position
  • Landing control

Drop Technique

We use different techniques depending on your level, the feature and the landing.

  • Rolling drops
  • Front wheel control
  • Pop drops
  • Approach speed
  • Landing position

Progression

We always start small and build the size only when your technique is working consistently.

Option 2: Cornering & Technical Climbing

This option is ideal if you want to make better use of an eBike's grip and climbing ability.

Cornering

Learn how to separate your body from the bike, create lean and keep the tyres working underneath you.

  • Body position
  • Bike separation
  • Foot pressure
  • Vision
  • Braking
  • Line choice

Technical Climbing

Stop relying on maximum assistance and hoping the bike drags you to the top.

  • Body position
  • Keeping the front wheel controlled
  • Maintaining rear-wheel traction
  • Gear selection
  • Cadence
  • Power-mode selection
  • Line choice

Sick of looping out on steep climbs?

The answer is often not more motor power. Better body position, gear choice and power delivery can make a huge difference to traction and control.

Bike setup matters even more on an eBike

An eBike places different demands on tyres, suspension and rider position because of the additional system weight and the way the bike generates power.

We will check over your bike before coaching starts and advise on any obvious setup changes that could improve your confidence or control.

Get your eBike dialled before your course

Our SkillsLoop Bike Setup Tool factors in rider, bike and riding information to provide personalised setup starting points.

It covers tyre pressure, suspension, rebound, compression, cockpit position, bar width, brake lever position and more.

Getting your setup closer before the course means we can spend more of your coaching time working on your riding.

Is the eBike Course right for me?

This course could be ideal if you:

  • Have recently moved from a mountain bike to an eMTB
  • Feel the bike's extra weight in corners or technical terrain
  • Want to improve technical climbing
  • Struggle with front-wheel lift on steep climbs
  • Want to understand which assistance mode to use
  • Want to jump or drop your eBike more confidently
  • Feel like you are fighting the bike rather than working with it
  • Want coaching specifically adapted to eMTB riding

Private coaching means we can adapt

Every eBike rider uses their bike differently.

Some riders want to master technical climbs, others want to become more confident descending, and some want to learn how to jump a heavier bike properly.

Because the course is private, we can spend the time where it will make the biggest difference to you.

Half day or full day?

Half Day

A focused session ideal if you want to concentrate on one of the main course options or a specific riding problem.

10:00am – 1:00pm

Full Day

More time to work through technique in detail and apply your new skills across a wider variety of trail terrain.

10:00am – 3:00pm

Includes a short lunch break.

Which should I choose?

If there is one clear area you want to improve, a half day can work really well.

If you want to cover multiple techniques or spend more time applying them on the trail, the full day gives us much more flexibility.
